It has been another great week of learning at St. Catherine! CougarMail is coming home one day early this week due to Holy Week schedules. Holy Week is a very special time. It is a chance to truly reflect upon all that our Catholic faith means to us. Over the past week, most of the children have experienced Stations of the Cross and a blessing of the Palms. Be sure to ask them about it. The teachers and students have spent the last weeks preparing themselves for Easter. Have you, as a family, done the same? I hope that you will all attend Good Friday and Easter services. It is so important that parents reinforce the message that our children hear at school. If you choose to send your children to a Catholic school but do not place value upon church attendance, I’m afraid that your children will not really hear an accurate message. Don’t forget that Easter break starts at 3:15 PM on Thursday. We will return on Monday, April 4. Please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 414-445-2846 anytime you have questions, comments or concerns. Together we can do GREAT things!
It has been another great week of learning at St. Catherine! Have you recruited a new school family for next year? If not, please think about whom you would like to have join us at St. Catherine Catholic School. Enrollment for next year is moving well, but I know parents are the best promoters we have! We would like to grow our student body by about 25 students. By encouraging your friends/family to bring their children to our great school, you get to choose your child’s classmates!!! We have had many more students enroll in March-we are up to 90 students already enrolled. Remember I can’t save seats! The sooner you enroll the better. This is especially true for our large classes-like 7th grade. Enrollment ends for this period on Monday, March 21. Don’t be left behind!!! Our children and teachers continue to work on upholding our Lenten promises. We humbly pray for God’s mercy.
First of all let me say I am very excited to say that we only had 9 tardies today! We have never made it under 10 before. Thank you! As you know, tomorrow is the last day before Christmas break. We are out of school the following two weeks and return Monday January 4, 2016 at 7:40 am. If you are in need of child care over the Christmas break, please consider our Cougar Camp program. Contact Nick Puls at email@example.com for more information.
Secondly, to celebrate all the wonderful things that have happened at St.Catherine this Advent season, tomorrow will be Green and Red Day. Students who wear red or greentomorrow may have free dress. I hope to see lots of Christmas spirit on display tomorrow.
Finally, I have a St. Catherine school family that lives near 41st and Capitol without transportation. If you live in that area and are willing to provide transportation to and from school for a 7th grade student, please contact me at the school office or reply to this email. This family does not want to leave our school but is in definite need of help.
It has been a great start to our school year, with lots more to be done. Thank you to all our families for your support and cooperation as we work together to create a great school. Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year to you all from myself, and the teachers, staff and Parish of St. Catherine’s
